Assessing the wider benefits of the Woodland Carbon Code
Descriptions
The Forestry Commission wishes to commission an analysis of the social and environmental benefits of the Woodland Carbon Code (WCC), and to identify a replicable set of methods and metrics to enable future analyses. Specific objectives of the study are to: •Review relevant studies which could inform the approach to be taken; •Review documentation on existing WCC projects (e.g. contained on the Markit registry); •Identify the types of benefits that could be linked to these projects, and metrics that could be used to assess them; •Use evidence from WCC project documentation and other sources (e.g. forest economic valuation studies) to assess the actual and potential benefits of WCC projects; and, •Consider how the wider benefits of the WCC could be assessed in a cost-effective way in future. Please express your interest in this tender to Lorna Baillie by email by the 25th November 2015 to allow us to notify you of any questions and answers we may receive.
