The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) needs a new Defence water and wastewater policy and implementation strategy to support the exit and reprovisioning planning for the Aquatrine Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts.The Aquatrine PFIs are due to expire from 2028 onwards. Before Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) begins the procurement process to replace this contract it is developing a new Defence Water and Wastewater Policy and Implementation Strategy to support the exit and reprovisioning planning for the Aquatrine PFI contracts. This policy will be developed following an assessment of whether MOD retains ownership of its current water, wastewater and sewage services through its private network or seeks to change service delivery, through transfer or adoption of assets, across GB, to statutory providers. Or a combination of both.
