Descriptions

The proposed brief will require a facility of GIA approx. 5 850 m2 and will consist of a mixture of industrial work areas, technical laboratory, office accommodation accommodating up to 70-90 people. Office facilities (to include computing facilities) will need to accommodate 50-60 people. The laboratory, research and industrial areas will contain a variety of equipment including furnaces, die casting equipment, automated processes and other specialist equipment. The furnace heights will be approximately 7.6 m (with appropriate access arrangements into the building) and 1 will also require a 4.5 m deep pit. Other associated space will include secure storage (for hardware and consumables associated with the casting process), general facilities, plant rooms and support areas.
