Rail skills are those required to enable our staff to work on and around Network Rail’s live infrastructure covering;1. Working at height;2. First aid;3. Lineside management;4. Manual handling;5. Track safety;6. Machine/crane controller & On Track Plant (OTP);7. Signal Engineering Maintenance & Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook (SMTH);8. Signalling — interlockings, points & track circuits;9. Electrification and power — non-awarded due to lack of sufficient tenderers with technical experience;10. Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) & National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health;11. Signalling Technology.
