Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust acting in its own right and as lead trust for and on behalf of the trusts listed below is seeking bids for the provision of Human Healthcare Waste Collection, Transportation and Disposal Services.— Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (as lead trust),— Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust,— Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust,— Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.The tender is based on Lots by individual trusts. Bidders may submit offers either for individual Lots or for the entirety of the tender. The Authority reserves the right to award contracts to 1 or more suppliers as an outcome of this tendering process.It is anticipated that the contract will be let for an initial period of 3 years commencing 1.4.2016 and expiring on 31.3.2019 with the option to extend by a further two (2) x twelve (12) month period. The Contract may therefore be extended on a one (1) year plus one (1) year basis i.e. 1.4.2019 to 31.3.2020 and 1.4.2020 to 31.3.2021.This contract will encompass the segregation, disposal and possible re-use opportunities for human healthcare waste.The categories of waste involved within this tender include but are not limited to:— 18 01 Wastes from natal care, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of disease in humans,— 18 01 01 Sharps (except 18 01 03),— 18 01 02/03 Body parts and organs including blood bags and blood preserves (except 18 01 03),— 18 01 03* Wastes whose collection and disposal is subject to special requirements in order to prevent infection,— 180103/09 Infectious sharps partially discharged of medicinal products short PCS,— 18 01 04 Wastes whose collection and disposal is not subject to special requirements in order to prevent infection for example, dressings, linen, disposable clothing, diapers,— 18 01 04* Plaster casts containing gypsum,— 18 01 06* Chemicals consisting of or containing dangerous substances,— 18 01 08 Cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines,— 18 01 09 Medicines other than those mentioned in 18 01 08,— 18 01 10* Amalgam waste from dental care.* Indicates hazardous waste.
