T0516 National Travel Demand Manager approach including interventions and evaluation
Descriptions
As part of delivering National Highways Net Zero Highways Plan, we have an ambition to develop a programme of interventions to support the re-timing, re-moding and reduction of some journeys on the Strategic Road Network where possible through providing travel choice. The key purpose of this service is to create an approach to Travel Demand Management (TDM) for National Highways that is built upon the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of pilot travel choice interventions during the remainder of RIS2. This project will create a blueprint for defining future interventions and direction for National Highways applicable to other schemes. The focus for the pilot activities is on Manchester to align with two major project schemes for which a reduction in the forecasted disbenefit of delay during construction phase would benefit users and adjacent communities. It also provides a focus to test pilot activities to understand their impacts on SRN traffic.
