0792 Bellhouse Closed Landfill Generator — Management and Energy Contract

Essex County Council (the ‘Authority’) is the operator of the Bellhouse Closed Landfill Site (the ‘Site’), which is located in Stanway, Colchester. The Authority is responsible for the management and control of landfill gas emanating from the Site. The Authority has awarded a contract for the management of the landfill gas at the Site and generation of energy from landfill gas from the Site. Details of technical, safety, environmental permit, planning permission and other requirements were set out in the services specification available with the tender documents. Additional services may be added to this contract in order to better utilise the resources in relation to the landfill site and/or to maximise any spare capacity which can be exported to the electricity grid network.
