552 - Measurement of Sedimentary Stability

Descriptions

Formulation stability is a key property that must be controlled or at least understood to make robust, effective, products and processes. Measurement techniques that provide insights into processes that effect stability enhance the capability of National Formulation Centre In this instance we require a device for automatically measuring sedimentation, creaming, flocculation and coalescence of emulsions, foams, dispersions or suspensions and recording the information on a computer for subsequent analysis. Measurements are made in-situ which enables faster, more relevant measurements to be made when compared to existing alternative techniques e.g. centrifugation. The device should use light scattering to measure
