374 Testing Opportunities for blending public and private finance

Descriptions

This contract has been awarded to work with 120 farmers and other stakeholders through a series of workshops and 1:1 discussions to produce opportunity maps to identify locations for habitat creation and restoration. They will identify the specific locations where biodiversity, carbon credits opportunities to improve water quality and reduce impacts of flooding should yield the optimal cost/ benefit balance. These maps will then be used to extend and enhance their economic modelling tool (developed in their previous Test and Trial) by incorporating BNG, carbon payments, water quality improvements and NFM interventions to show the impact of these on the model farms at a macro level; and identify the potential impacts on farm incomes of available public and private income streams and to understand land manager responses to these opportunities
