Caerphilly CBC ('Council)' requires an experienced Contractor to for a highway improvement scheme on one of the busiest roundabouts on the Council’s strategic highway network. The adopted LDP (2010) that covers the period up to 2021 identified a number of sites with potential for housing development. A traffic analysis was undertaken to identify the highway improvements necessary to mitigate against the traffic generated from the proposed sites. The A468/A469 Pwllypant Roundabout Improvement was one of the sites highlighted as needing improvement.The scheme incorporates the following:a)Implementation of full time, partial signalisation to the roundabout.b)Widening of approach lanes to the roundabout to include; A469 from Llanbradach – additional filter lane and extension to existing filter lanes, East Bound lane of A468/A469 dualled approach to roundabout and dualled exit from roundabout, Pontygwindy Road - additional filter lane and extension in length to existing filters, A468 Bedwas Arm - dualled approach and exit to roundaboutc)On- line replacement of Welsh Water sewer and highway surface drainage.d)Diversion of utilities apparatus equipment (BT, WPD, WWU)e)Construction of retaining walls on A469 Llanbradach arm and A468 Bedwas Arm.f)Full carriageway reconstruction on major arms.g)Replacement of existing street lighting and traffic signs.h)New footway linking the existing pedestrian over bridge on the A468/A469 to the footway on Pontygwindy Road.Further details is available in the associated procurement documentation which can be accessed via the Council's e-tendering portal-Proactis Plaza.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=66401.
