AC Transformer System

Descriptions

A 300 kV, up to 500 mA, AC high voltage transformer and test system is required for use within the HV laboratory. The system must include: AC test transformer, voltage regulator, protective resistor, power filter, isolation transformer, compensation reactor, capacitive voltage divider (with partial discharge measurement output), all relevant cables and an automatic digital control system. It is imperative that the overall size of the system is as small as possible (4 m high) and that the transformer be an oil filled cylinder with wheels so that it can be easily moved. The divider must also be placed on wheels. A suitable protection system must be included with an isolating transformer and a digital control system that can produce controlled voltage ramps and testing sequences. All parts of the system must include relevant documentation including calibration certificates. It is important to note that this system must comply with IEC 60060 and IEC 60270. The transformer must be rated for 60minute short-time operation cycles with a load cycle of 2-3 times per day. The system must have a partial discharge value of < 3 - 5pC at 100% and a testing frequency of 50 Hz. UK Power supply available for input is: 400 V RMS, up to 400A. All equipment is to be used indoors only.
