Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB)’s Primary care Mental Health Support service is seeking to procure short-term counselling / psychological therapy provision for a waiting list initiative. Short-term counselling / psychotherapy would need to be provided to adults (aged 18 or above) with a range of mild-moderate mental health needs for whom counselling / psychological therapy has been identified as being an appropriate course of clinical action.The specification is for the provider to deliver 1,500 counselling sessions of 1 hour duration, with each episode being up to 8 appointments.It is required that where individual clients do not use the full 8 sessions, unused sessions must be ‘recycled’ meaning that additional clients would be offered blocks of counselling, ensuring that the total of 1,500 appointments are used. Counselling may be provided at ABUHB venues or at the provider’s own venue/s.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
