Adult Human Trafficking Victim Care Coordination and Contracting - Contracting for provision of a ra
Descriptions
The provision of appropriate support to identified victims of human trafficking is a key strand of the UK's anti human trafficking strategy. The volume of identified victims (just over 500 eligible potential victims were identified last year) and nature of support that they require means that centralised provision is best suited to meet this need in an effective and cost efficient manner. It is on this basis that a prime contractor is sought to contract with support providers across England and Wales for the provision of support services to identified victims. Central coordination and monitoring of this provision of care is required in tandem with the contracting function. It is expected that the contract will be awarded in March 2011, with the appointed prime contractor in place by 1 April 2011. The commissioner will work with the successful prime contractor to establish and mobilise the service, and to manage the transition from the current arrangements to the prime-contracting model proposed here. The contract value is in the range of approximately 1 million-2 million GBP. The Contract duration will be for an initial period of two years, with the option to review at 18 months.
