The City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) has a statutory duty to provide alternative provision for children and young people in accordance with the Education Act 1996. These can include children and young people who are permanently excluded; subject to fixed term exclusions; at risk of disengaging from education; and/or require alternative educational provision to meet their education entitlement (e.g. as outlined in their Education, Health and Care plan). The current Alternative Provision (AP) framework expires 31 August 2025; therefore, the City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking to re-commission a range of alternative educational provision which will drive, support and improve students' engagement and inclusion, whilst promoting sufficient choice in the local market, and delivering best value.
