Alyth Museum / Cateran Ecomuseum Brief for exhibition planning, design and fitout
Descriptions
The Client, Culture Perth and Kinross (SC046353) (in partnership with Cateran Ecomuseum (SC591263)) wish to engage consultants to design, create and install a new exhibition at Alyth Museum. This will result in an orientation space providing locals and visitors to the area with interactive and engaging information on how to explore the region, its history, archaeology and biodiversity. The purpose of this space will be to engage visitors and deepen their understanding of the climate and biodiversity crisis that we are facing as a society on a local level and encourage them to participate through convivial activism. We will be looking engage with an external exhibition company to design and install displays using content created by the Cateran Ecomuseum and curators from Culture Perth and Kinross (CPK). This will be a co-curated space working directly with the Ecomuseum team and the community in Alyth to create a sustainable and vital future for Alyth Museum and the collection relating to the Ecomuseum geography. It will provide a base from which the Cateran Ecomuseum will be able to inform visitors of their annual engagement programme. The project has been awarded 45,000 GBP of funding by Museums Galleries Scotland.
