Analysis of Estuarine and Marine Macrobenthic Invertebrate Samples.
Descriptions
The Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Natural England require contractors to analyse a range of subtidal and intertidal benthic macro-invertebrate samples.The samples will be collected from various sediment types and from a range of depths. Resolution is to the lowest taxonomic level as defined by the National Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control (NMBAQC) Scheme.Samples are required for the Water Framework Directive (WFD) 200/60/EC, , Habitat Directive, for condition monitoring of Natura 2000 sites and verification of habitat & species presence and extent for Marine Conservation Zones. All samples require species abundance data, and the majority of samples will require analysis of both abundance and biomass.
