Analysis of Litter Survey

Descriptions

The purpose of this work is to undertake an analysis of the composition of a representative sample of litter collected in Wales, including a specific focus to identify the quantity (by weight), size and number of drinks containers (all materials) and the quantity (by weight), size and number of specified single-use plastics included in this waste stream. The study will require analysis of litter collected in bins and highway sweepings, and collected alongside roadside verges. It will require all Wales coverage with a representative sample of litter collected in rural, urban and valleys communities. The objective is to provide a comprehensive and detailed analysis of litter to inform the development of impact assessments related to possible policy options as listed in the specification. The methodology used to undertake the analysis should be robust and able to be replicated in the future so that we can, as accurately as possible, estimate the impact of the policies that are implemented on the level and composition of litter in Wales.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
