Analytical and Representational Services for Tariff Classification of Goods
Descriptions
HM Revenue and Customs in conjunction with Border Force has an ongoing requirement for the provision of analytical and professional services to enable HMRC determine the correct tariff classification of imported goods based on ingredients, make up, chemical composition and function. The service provider will be required to understand the principles that govern the general rules for the interpretation of the Nomenclature to which classification decisions are based. The service provider will be required to represent HMRC by attending meetings with various worldwide organisations that are involved with analytical activities in connection with international trade and prepare feedback on the findings. The service provider will be required to understand court procedures, collate evidence, present and articulate expert evidence at court tribunals.
