The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to purchase anti ligature ensuite doors. The doors will be needed for a mental health ward. A common design of door is where there are door top alarms fitted, however the clinical team have stipulated that these doors are more reactive to a situation and a more proactive style anti ligature door was required. The “saloon” style doors are proactive which fits in the door frame. They also need to be reset if they become unhinged which means the clinicians are aware of any tampering with the door frames.NOTE: The authority is using eTender wales to carry out this procurement process.
