Appointment of Destination Management Co-ordinator for Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council

Destination Management is a Welsh Government initiative that has tasked all local authorities to develop a structure for developing and delivering a destination Management plan. Due to the size of Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Borough has been split into 7 areas or hubs based on geography and a unique selling proposition as indicated below. Each area has a delivery group with a chair person and secretary. The areas are:-Lower Cynon – Legends and Landscapes-Mid Rhondda & Rhondda Fach – People and Power-Lower Taf – Castle and Curiosities-Upper Rhondda – Steeped in Culture-Ely Valley – Royal Connections-Aberdare & Upper Cynon – Wisdom, walks and waterfalls-Pontypridd & Lower Rhondda – Connecting people and placesEach local authority is expected to develop their destination management plans and communicate these with Welsh Government. If any area or partner is seeking funding from Welsh Government they will be expected to have a destination management plan and reference the project within it. This is to ensure a strategic approach and include the relevant stakeholders on the development of that destination.Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC, Tourism section is looking for a Destination Management Co-ordinator. The role would require the successful candidate to have knowledge of the Tourism industry and understand its relationship with Welsh Government and other industrial bodies.The Contract term will be for an initial 5 month term.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
