ARB invites bids for legal services for misuse of the title ‘architect’ ARB is the UK statutory regulator of architects, and is responsible for regulating the use of the title ‘Architect’. Under the provisions of the Architects Act 1997 any unregistered person using the title ‘Architect’ is committing an offence upon summary conviction. ARB is looking to engage individuals or practices to advise on, prepare and prosecute misuse of title cases at the magistrates’ courts. Applicants must: • be a solicitor or barrister; • have experience of prosecuting criminal cases. Experience of working with a statutory regulator or dealing with restricted titles is desirable. The successful applicant(s) would be expected to annually deal with approximately 25 misuse of title cases, leading to three full prosecutions.
