Copeland Borough Council wants to create a fit for purpose area to house a second cremator and double abatement system to include building structural considerations for accommodating/installing the equipment, load bearing and chimney flue elements (lightning protected) to accommodate a double abatement system and improved operational space, including automatic charging of coffins. Requirements for ventilation and heating and the facility for heat recovery are also included. Work carried out, should be done so with the minimal disruption, which may have to factor in evening or weekend workings. Due to the nature of the business all works should be carried out with a respectful, sympathetic and professional approach.The project will also include the redesign of internal rooms, customer entrance and exit and the design of an additional internal chapel which is expected to include an element of new build.
