ARP14/99 Permanent Way Asset Renewal Framework.

As part of the 389 000 000 GBP Tyne and Wear Metro Asset Renewal Plan to modernise the system between 2010 and 2021, Nexus is tendering a Framework to deliver Permanent Way Renewals. This framework is likely to be for a minimum of 36 months and it is anticipated that a single supplier will be appointed.The scope of this framework contains a number of Full Track Renewal projects, as well as a variety of other renewal types, including but not limited to Re-railing, Tip, Ballast, Tamp and Stress and Switch and Crossing Renewals. It will also include other activities related to Track Renewals such as Track Drainage, Ballast Retention, Signal Testing and Overhead Line Adjustment. The first project to be awarded under the framework will be the renewal of track between Northumberland Park and Tynemouth Metro Stations. It is anticipated that this work will be priced and evaluated as part of the framework tender process with the work package awarded to the successful bidder. Further work packages are likely to be awarded under the framework and will be called off following further process.
