This project is a commission to undertake a unique and major cross border research study in the Derry City and Strabane District Council (DCSDC) and Donegal County Council (DCC) Areas.The research concept follows a series of dialogues between DCSDC, DCC in terms of the need to examine the physical land-use implications of Brexit upon the North-West Region of Ireland.The commission will ask how landscape can be an agent in the shaping of the cross-border City Region. The commission’s starting point is the recognition that the North West City Region of Derry and Donegal has international and cross-border significance in the context of Brexit. It acknowledges that it will be part of the only land border between the UK and EU.
