The University is looking to appoint a provider to undertake the external audit of it's ESF funded Foundation Degree(FD) and Work Based Learning(WBL) programmes. External audit is a Welsh European Funding Office(WEFO) requirement for both FD and WBL programmes.Both programmes are financed through the European Social Fund (ESF) Convergence Programme for West Wales and the Valleys, via the Welsh Government.The Foundation Degree (FD) Programme is a GBP 16,5 million programme led by the University of Glamorgan, working in partnership with the HE and FE sector across the whole of Wales. The FD Programme will provide a route for those employed in the private sector that are living and/or working within West Wales and the Valleys, the opportunity to study towards a Foundation Degree.The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Programme is a GBP 34 million programme led by the University of Glamorgan, working in partnership with the HE and FE sector across the whole of Wales. The WBL Programme will provide a route for those employed in the private sector that are living and/or working within West Wales and the Valleys, the opportunity to study bite-sized higher-level learning.Both programmes have a number of key stakeholders, including the HE and FE sector, Hefcw, HEW, ColegauCymru, the Sector Skills Councils (SSCs), and key employers and employer organisations across West Wales and the Valleys.The FD Programme was approved by WEFO in July 2009. The WBL Programme was approved in August 2009.
