Lancashire and Lakeland Regional Immunology Service provides a comprehensive clinical and laboratory immunology service to Lancashire and South Cumbria in the North West of England. Approximately, 30 000 allergy tests per annum are performed which include a broad range of allergens. Presently these assays are tested using both chemiluminescent and FEIA technologies. Our intention is to continue to automate this workload using instrumentation, reagents, training and maintenance services procured under a Managed Service Contract. Further details will be provided to those suppliers who express an interest in the procurement. The Department is particularly keen to explore novel strategies to support clinical activity in the delivery of the QIPP agenda. In particular how this may impact stakeholders in primary care.
