Automated Low Magnification Fluorescence Microscope
Descriptions
This microscope will be available to all researchers in the Living Systems Institute at the University of Exeter to support their research. The research done with this equipment will include, but not be limited to: •quantitative time-lapse microscopy of a large number of bacterial colonies at 37 C over the course of several days distributed on two microtiter plates, •high-speed recording of animal larvae, A platform for dissection and injection into animal eggs To cover these needs, the microscope needs to be fully automated, have incubation capabilities and include a high-speed camera. To increase throughput, the stage will need to be large enough to allow for imaging of two microtiter plates. Magnification and resolution should be capable of spanning the size range from observing single yeast cells to a field of view about 20 mm wide (without stitching).
