Awarded
Award Contract for The Provision of AAIB Telephone System
Descriptions
The contract was awarded to the supplier for a service requirement for the AAIB (Air Accidents Investigation Branch) who investigate civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents within the UK, its overseas territories and crown dependencies. The AAIB relies on its 24-hour accident reporting line, and other telephony services. REQUIREMENT The AAIB currently use a hosted Mitel Unified Communications system that delivers telephony to the business. It features DDI's (Direct Dial Numbers) for all staff. These are presented on desktop handsets. DDI's also exist for communal area handsets and conference phones. With the changing expectations on working environments and practices, we are seeking a modern and resilient telephony provision with Unified Communications. New technology is now available which will help AAIB to deliver a modern telephony system. We are also mindful of the planned retirement of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) by 2025, of which we are still utilizing some lines.
