Descriptions
We are Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) an executive agency of the Scottish Government responsible for managing Scotland’s national forests and land. On 01 April 2019 FLS was formed to take forward the work previously undertaken by Forest Enterprise Scotland, along with new responsibilities gained following the full devolution of forestry to Scotland.FLS looks after Scotland’s national forests and land for the benefit of all, now and for the future. Our purpose is to manage in a way that supports and enables economically sustainable forestry; conserves and enhances the environment; and delivers benefits for people and nature. Through this we will enhance biodiversity, support tourism and increase access to the green spaces that will help improve Scotland’s physical and mental health and well-being. In total Forestry and Land Scotland manages 308 destinations across Scotland for visitors to explore and enjoy.FLS wish to commission a visitor experience strategy for Queen Elizabeth Forest Park (QEFP) to set out a clear overall vision and direction for the park and its potential future.
