1 x Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) based in Glasgow (home working during Covid crisis)Essential Skills & Knowledge:*** We require all our suppliers to strictly look into this skill set when they search and submit candidates for this position ***The Scottish Government are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with the following skillset and experiences;Skills and Experience we are looking for:• Experience running root cause analysis on large distributed system ensuring that failure is not repeated• Understanding of software and infrastructure architecture including performance tuning applications, infrastructure and databases;• Experience scaling system sustainably through automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability, velocity and cost efficiency.• Proficient in system monitoring, capacity planning, business continuity, system support and failure diagnosis;• Strong Amazon Web services knowledge minimum of 3 years hands on experience• Solid and demonstrable understanding of AWS well architected framework;• In-depth Infrastructure as Code experience for automation and configuration management (specifically Terraform, Ansible, packer and CloudWatch)• Evangelist for Continuous integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies reducing toil and ensuring maximum change velocity and deployment consistency• Excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills with a bias towards RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and CentOS;
