Descriptions
9.To provide both Training Teams a robust weatherproof communications system delivering a working range of 0 - 18km over both Urban and Open Countryside Training Areas. The system must include both Handheld and Desk Mounted devices with a multi-channel capability which can be programmed with Frequencies cleared for use by JSA, it is also to have the ability to integrate a repeater where necessary to extend the range or to cover dead ground. Both Handheld and Desk Mounted (used in the Transportable Mode) devices must be able to use detachable batteries to allow continuous use during training serials, but also have the ability to be mains operated for use on any training area within the UK. This will enable the training teams to have an all-informed safety network controlled by an internal small group HQ. After a successful procurement there will be considerably enhanced communications and a more reliable safety net that reduces safety risk for future training. This went out on Lot 11 of RM3808 Network services 2. All suppliers had the opportunity to submit a service offering via direct award. Radiocoms Systems Limited had the most economically advantageous tender of those service offerings received. as guided by CCS, only the awarded supplier has been notified
