Babcock Critical Services Limited (herein referred to as 'Babcock') are seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers for the design and manufacture of five Heavy Logistic Vehicles. Babcock is a leading provider of critical, complex engineering services which support national defence, save lives and protect communities. In May 2014, the London Fire Brigade ("LFB") entered into a 21 year contract (the "Prime Contract") for Babcock to manage and maintain LFB's fleet and operational vehicles and equipment. The procurement of these assets is being carried out pursuant to this Prime Contract. The scope of services is for the Design, Supply and Build of fully operational appliances which are capable of achieving the requirements below: •5 vehicles required for Fire Service use •26t chassis, Scania or Mercedes (chassis supplied by the bodybuilder) •Load bed capable of minimum 10 off pallet sized loads, loads will vary from IBC's, bulk sand containers to loose timber up to 6 meters long •Load bed must be fitted with safety systems to prevent falls from height •Underbody lockers required for stowage of firefighting equipment and restraint systems, these lockers must be fitted with a central locking system. •The various types of loads must but be capable of being restrained during Fire Service Emergency Response Driving •Moffett fork lift truck to be supplied and fitted by the bodybuilder •Anti-Bandit glazing will be provided by the bodybuilder to protect the cab occupants •The vehicle will be fitted with Fire service warning lighting and sirens •Satellite navigation, 360 degree vision aid system and emergency service radios will be fitted •Vehicle must be supplied with Fire service livery •The vehicles must meet BS EN1846 for Fire Fighting vehicles, the body builder will be responsible for the testing (tilt to 32 degrees, brake, performance, hill starts, handling etc.) and certification of the completed vehicle. •Vehicle must be supplied with comprehensive training and manuals for both operation and maintenance. Responses to the EOI will be evaluated for conformity to elements of the attached document: •the requirements stated at section 4.3, •the response to the questions at 6.2, •the return of the populated Babcock Due Diligence questionnaire.
