Balcony and Balustrade refurbishment for Pillgwenlly Regeneration Completion Project

The Pillgwenlly estate consist of over 250 houses and flats built located near Commercial Road in Newport. This is a completion project with the objective to address the issues of the original residential layout of the estate when it was built back in the 1970’s. This will be achieved by improving the public areas, to improve the environment and help tackle the issues of ASB and crime. The housing stock is being continuously improved and this project will focus on a programme of balcony and balustrading renovation. In addition to this, this is a public and occupied site with other contractors working on routine repairs and services on behalf of NCH. For further information, please access the Newport City Planning website and search under project reference 15/0314 and specifically 19/0308The works to the Balcony refurbishment and repairs for the flat roofs and balustrading is on an identified schedule of properties. This includes replacing the ranch style balustrading with stainless steel contemporary balustrading in accordance with the planning approvals. The flat roof system are required to have minimum 15-year warranty by approved installer. There are between 50 to 65 balconies in the programme.
