Bangor University Invitation to Tender Dark Display

Descriptions

Bangor University is seeking to commission a specialist to deliver a market/technical feasibility report in the following area of research: Image Contrast Retargeting for Dark Displays. Research undertaken at the School of Computer Science, Bangor University has led to the development of a retargeting method that alters the perceived contrast of an image shown on a darker electronic display (after backlight dimming) to match the appearance of an image shown on a much brighter display. The method is derived from the psychophysical measurements of matching contrast, which we generalize to complex images. The retargeting involves spatial contrast processing, which can reveal details in an image that would otherwise become invisible on a darker display.Funded by the Early Stage Development Fund (Academic Excellence for Business (A4B), managed by the Welsh Government and supported by the European Regional Development Fund), the report will be required to assess the market potential, key steps to market and opportunities for commercialization.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=1240.
