Bangor University is seeking to commission a specialist to deliver a market/technical feasibility report in the following area of research: Image Contrast Retargeting for Dark Displays. Research undertaken at the School of Computer Science, Bangor University has led to the development of a retargeting method that alters the perceived contrast of an image shown on a darker electronic display (after backlight dimming) to match the appearance of an image shown on a much brighter display. The method is derived from the psychophysical measurements of matching contrast, which we generalize to complex images.
