Bangor University Provision of Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) System

Descriptions

The optical communications research group at Bangor University is currently undertaking a collaborative research project funded by the Welsh Government via their SMARTExpertise program, which is ultimately funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The project investigates new DSP-based technologies for implementing advanced, flexible and adaptive optical networks for the cost-effective integration of fixed and mobile networks, in particular the project addresses the needs for the fixed network element of the forthcoming 5G systems. In order to generate suitably modulated microwave signals with sufficiently wide bandwidth an arbitrary waveform generator is to be purchased which maximises the capability of the experimental research that can be undertaken.
