INVITATION FOR PROPOSALSBEACON MID-TERM EVALUATIONBEACON (A Biorefining Centre of Excellence for Wales) is a four and a half year European Union funded project, backed with £10.6 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which aims to make a vital contribution to tackling climate change. BEACON is a partnership between the Universities of Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea.The mid-point of the project is approximately May 2013 and as part of the project review process at this stage, BEACON is seeking to appoint a team of consultants to work with staff involved with the BEACON project, in order to produce a mid-term evaluation that will answer specific questions relating to key issues affecting the project.This will comprise two parts:Part I: an evaluation of the BEACON project.Part II: a feasibility study that will answer specific questions relating to key issues affecting the long term sustainability and economic viability of a biorefining strategy in Wales.
