As part of Wirral's response to welfare reform, Council budget proposals for 2014-2015 agreed on 12.2.2014 that funding of GBP 100 000 would be available for a one year period to provide advice services to people who are experiencing the impact of the welfare reform changes. This is in addition to the GBP 120 000 made available in the last financial year.Wirral Borough Council is seeking to commission additional support to provide free welfare advice, information and advocacy service, open to all Wirral residents but with a particular focus on individuals and families with specific needs in relation to the Welfare Reform. Recent experience of offering welfare and benefit advice, case work and representation at appeals, debt and financial advice relating the Welfare Reforms is required.
