Earthworks including contamination remediation, grouting of mineworkings, The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) is procuring the construction of a new spine road, drainage and earthworks reprofiling to facilitate residential development.The contracting authority (HCA and Wolverhampton City Council) is looking to appoint a contractor who is able to construct the works comprising the following scope:Land Re-profiling:1. Excavation of former railway embankment to provide developable plots (for residential development).2. Engineered fill to provide development profiles (for residential development).3. Engineered fill to provide development profile (Open space south of Nettlefold Way and proposed school site).4. Removal and crushing of existing concrete slabs.Highway Works:5. Creation of new access junctions off Coseley Road, Highfields Road and Dudley Street.6. Creation of distributor roads linking Coseley Road to Highfields Road.7. Creation of a bus link, footway /cycleway to Dudley Street.8. Street lighting, drainage and safety measures to Bankfield Road.Drainage and Engineering:9. Strategic Surface Water drainage and attenuation.10. Strategic Foul Water drainage connections.Ground Engineering:11. Removal and replacement of the retaining wall at 9 Broadmoor Close with battered slope.12. Grouting of shallow mine workings under roads items 5 to 8 above.13. Treatment of mine shafts where required.The scheme is to be constructed to adoptable standards, including drainage works and utilities works to accommodate future development. Following construction, it will subsequently be adopted by the local authority.The works are to be fully designed by the Client's Consultant team as far as practicable.It is anticipated that the works will be carried out under an NEC ECC contract.
