Bio-mass Belt Dryer (URN B2-11)

Descriptions

To construct and install a Biomass Belt Dryer machine capable of drying bulk plant material as part of a bio-processing facility. It is expected that the dryer will comprise a long chamber fed with heated air in a single section or stage. The bio-mass material will be introduced at one end to be carried the length of the chamber by a continuous conveyor belt to the far end. Air will be drawn through a steam heat exchanger and into the stage, passing though the bio-mass material and open-mesh belt in order to remove moisture. One or more exhaust fans will draw the hot air out of the system creating a slight vacuum to draw fresh hot air in. The extent of drying will depend on the nature of the feedstock, the moisture content of the feed, the temperature and flow of the air and to some extent, the humidity of the air. The throughput is to be between 100 and 250 kg/h of bio-mass material (generally grasses of some type) to achieve a 10 to 20% RH in the dried solids. The drying air temperature is expected to be in the region of 80 deg C. The construction contractor will provide a 400v 3ph 50Hz electrical supply of 25 kW installed power. The complete assembly must be bird and vermin proofed. The Supplier will be responsible for the manufacture and installation of the plant, which is to be housed in a purpose-built new building with appropriate services. The plant is of a size that will require design effort to ensure that it fits well within the building and is consistent with access, supply of services, process operation, acceptable noise levels and personnel safety. The Supplier will undertake the plant design (including confirming dead and live load implications) and provide design drawings for the purpose of coordination into the construction contractor’s proposals. The Supplier must include for the supply, installation, commissioning and initial 12-month warranty of the Biomass Belt Dryer. An initial, conceptual general arrangement sketch has been prepared by Process Engineers, MS2 and this is attached for information purposes only at this stage; for the purpose of greater clarity.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=85032.
