Each year, United Utilities produces circa 450 000 tonnes of sludge through its Wastewater Treatment Works across the region. 300 000 tonnes of this is recycled to agricultural land and 150,000 tonnes is burnt through the Company's incinerator based at Shell Green.This treated Sludge is known as biosolids.Lot 1- Scheduled ServicesThe scope of this lot is for the provision of Biosolids Transportation and Associated Services across the companies 14 Waste Water sitesLot 2 Reactive ServicesThe scope of this lot is for the provision of a reactive services for biosolids produced above the scheduled services at the Company's Shell Green site.
