Bridgend County Borough Council, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and City and County of Swansea would like to invite providers including those who currently deliver Shared Lives Schemes, Adult Placement Schemes and/or other relevant Adult Social Care services to a half day workshop to set out their intentions for the future development of a Regional Shared Lives Scheme.The above Local Authorities are currently working in partnership as part of the Western Bay Learning Disability Work Project to collaboratively develop plans to expand their existing shared lives schemes by attracting partner organisations who can deliver a high quality service to individuals through recruiting, assessing, training and supporting Staff and Adult Placement Carers so that each Adult Placement Carer can provide support and care to those that are assessed as requiring the service.The purpose of the Regional Shared Lives Scheme is to recruit and provide support to Adult Placement Carers so they are better able to meet their role, match referrals to Adult Placement Carers and monitor the appropriateness of any Support and Care being delivered by Adult Placement Carers to Service Users.It is the vision of the three Local Authorities to work with providers who share our social care values of providing high quality services, which offers value for money and delivers the outcomes that matter to those who require the service.
