The successful tenderer (the “Supplier”) will be required to supply, install and commission new cremators, mercury abatement filtration equipment and associated ductwork, control and monitoring equipment in accordance with Secretary of State’s Guidance for Crematorium Process Guidance Note 5/2 (04) incorporating all latest amendments and Defra / WAG Air Quality (AQ) notes at time of tender.In addition the Supplier will be required to:­- Supply, install and commission a heat recovery system that will interface with the Crematorium’s central heating system.­- Supply, install and commission a new ash processing cremulator.­- Supply, install and commission a new automatic coffin charger.­- Provide training to Crematorium staff in the operation of all new equipment.­- Dismantle and remove from site the existing cremators, associated duct work and control systems.It is currently envisaged that the new cremators and filtration equipment will be housed in a new auxiliary extension built adjacent to the existing crematory room. Consequently, the Authority are seeking for the scheme to be undertaken in such a way that the crematorium remains operational throughout the installation and construction period, and it is envisaged that the construction of a new crematory building will facilitate this. The building and civil works forming part of the scheme will be undertaken by a Principal Contractor appointed under a separate procurement.
