Brunel Medical School - Camera System
Descriptions
Brunel University London is seeking a supplier able to supply a scalable camera system to assist with the simulated practice learning, formative feedback and summative assessment of our students within the new medical school (opening September 2022) and within health sciences for a period of up to 10 years (5+3+2). From September 2022, Brunel University London will be introducing a 5-year undergraduate degree in medicine leading to the award of a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. The new Brunel Medical School is part of the College of Health and Life Sciences. Our 5-year MBBS is open to students from outside the UK and EU. The College already runs a number of successful undergraduate and postgraduate health science courses. Brunel Medical School is part of a joint strategy with local trusts, creating inter-professional learning opportunities and supporting the delivery of an integrated course. The camera system will assist with the simulated practice learning, formative feedback and summative assessment of our students within the medical school and within health sciences (initially nursing and physician associate students, but in the future students studying on our other allied health professional courses). We would want to use this system to record the student's actions in a variety of situations and for all students to participate in the learning, including those learning remotely. Initially, we require the cameras to be installed in our simulated hospital wards (based across two different buildings on our campus), simulated community and mental health setting and our communication training rooms (all in one building), which also double-up as our objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) rooms. Our specification setting out our full requirements will be issued with the tender documents, when we approach the market. Brunel University London is one of the most diverse universities in the UK, where equality and diversity are integral to our ethos because it is critically important that all our staff and students are able to study, work, relax and socialise in a welcoming and inclusive environment which fosters a culture of mutual regard and respect.
