Descriptions

This contract seeks to identify one or more organisations to enter into a partnership arrangement with the Authority to undertake the following activities on their behalf:1. Acceptance of bulky waste.2. Sorting of bulky waste to maximize reuse/ recycling from this waste and minimise the amount landfilled.3. Selling or beneficial reuse of recyclates as a commodity into stable and sustainable end use recycling and reuse markets and outlets.4. Reporting of quantity recycled and location/type of recycling activity.5. Disposal of non recyclable waste materials to suitably permitted landfill or other waste management treatment activity.The framework agreement will run for 1 year and there will be an option to extend the agreement by up to a further 36 months.West Lothian Council is committed to maximising Community Benefits from its procurement activities. Under this procurement, the contractor, and its supply chain, will be required to support the authority's economic and social regeneration objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social, economic and environmental considerations.
