Bus Timetable and Route Management System
Descriptions
Bus operators are required to register local bus services with the Traffic Commissioner at least 42 days prior to the commencement of a new service or of a service change. At the same time that the operator applies to register the service, they are required to provide a copy of the registration to any Local Authority within which the service will operate. On receipt of the registration, Leicestershire County Council (LCC) input the details on to its route and timetable management system. The registration data is then uploaded to the server of the Traveline website to ensure the most up to date public transport travel information is always available to the public. LCC have appointed a supplier to provide a Management System to oversee the bus route and timetable data for all bus services within Leicestershire. The system also has the ability to monitor and update service frequencies and changes to service provision. The Services will be for an initial period of 2 year(s) with an option to extend the Contract upon expiry of the initial period of 2 years, at 1-year intervals (2+1+1+1). The full term of the contract including extension will be 5 years.
