By 2030 we want Surrey to be a uniquely special place live and work. A place where everyone has a great start to life; people live healthy and fulfilling lives; are enabled to achieve their full potential and contribute to their community; and no one is left behind.
We want our county's economy to be strong, vibrant and successful and Surrey to be a great place to live, work and learn. A place that capitalises on its location and natural assets, and where communities feel supported and can support each other.

This project aims to bolster that resilience so that the VCSE (voluntary, community, and social enterprise) are sustainable, viable and can continue to support

Descriptions

This project aims to bolster that resilience so that the VCSE (voluntary, community, and social enterprise) are sustainable, viable and can continue to support communities now and into the future. This program aims to support the VCSE sector in Surrey, helping them develop sustainable business models and serve the community effectively. It will provide immediate support, resources, and training to create financially sustainable community organizations. Key benefits of this program: 1.Empowering third sector leaders (and potentially select residents) to develop their community services or initiatives. 2.Offering direct support, guidance, and resources for community organizations. 3.Strengthening Surrey County Council's ability to work with community providers. 4.Building skills and confidence in council staff to support residents and key VCSE organisations. 5.Enhancing Surrey's Councils for Voluntary Services. The program will learn and adapt, working directly with organizations (including charities, social enterprises, micro-providers, and community businesses) to create resources and long-term plans that assist those organizations to consider their business models, governance structures and financial/fundraising strategies. The aim is to encourage long term sustainability and resilience.
