C477 Term Owner Controlled Insurance Programme (OCIP).
Descriptions
Thames Tideway Tunnel Limited (‘TTT Co’) wishes to purchase the above insurance programme in relation to the Thames Tunnel Project. The Thames Tunnel Project is part of the London tideway improvements, the implementation of which will substantially reduce the amount of untreated sewage entering London's rivers. The scheme is one of the largest infrastructure projects in London and builds on the sewage network masterminded in the 1860's by Sir Joseph Bazalgette. The London tideway improvements consist of 3 major engineering projects, starting with the upgrade of all five major sewage works on London. Construction of the four mile long Lee Tunnel has recently started to capture sewage discharges into the River Lee from Abbey Mills Pumping Station. Finally, the twenty mile long Thames Tunnel will capture storm sewage from the most polluting overflow points along the River Thames through central London. The tunnel, which will follow the course of the River Thames, will be one of the deepest ever constructed in London (up to 75 metres beneath ground level) and will be about 7.2 metres wide. The TTT will be delivered by an Infrastructure Provider (‘IP’) designated following competitive tender advertised in OJEU reference number 2014/S 113-199543.This notice applies to the Owner Controlled Insurance Programme for the construction of the twenty mile tunnel Lots 1 to 2. The periodic insurance for this OCIP and domestic insurances comprising Lots 3-10 are being advertised in another Contract Notice.Further details of the TTT project can be found on the project's website: www.thamestidewaytunnel.co.ukTWUL is carrying out certain preparatory work for the TTT as permitted by the preparatory work notice issued by DEFRA pursuant to the SIP Regulations. This includes the establishment of business capability for the Infrastructure Provider (IP) so that it can operate as a standalone entity from the point at which the successful bidder is appointed. TWUL has established an interim company, TTT Co as part of this strategy. The intention is that TTT Co will be acquired by the successful IP bidder. The contract will be awarded by either the TWUL or TTT Co (the ‘Contracting Entity’). The intention is that the contract will be transferred to the IP in due course, whether by novation or through business acquisition. Further details will be provided at the Invitation to Negotiate (‘ITN’) stage.Interested organisations should refer to II.2) (Quantity or scope) and VI.3) (Additional information) and to the pre-qualification pack (‘PQP’) for further information.
