Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) owns the regulated electricity transmission and distribution network in Northern Ireland. NIE is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the network as well as the operation of the electricity distribution network, which transports electricity to over 840 000 customers.NIE operates on a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year basis because of our emergency provision responsibilities and licence obligations.NIE wishes to appoint separate contractors under separate framework agreements for the provision of supply services at various locations throughout Northern Ireland. The contract is for a period of 3 years with the option, exercisable exclusively by NIE, to extend the contract for up to a further 2 years.NIE will determine the most economically advantageous tenderer (s) for each lot. The total value of the framework is estimated at 1 000 000 GBP for the 3-year period (2 500 000 GBP, if extended to 5 years).
