Provision of Mechancial Building works for an Extensive renovation and refurbishment of the 1930's wing and Francis Bacon Studio Complex of the Hugh Lane Gallery ensuring the retention and / or repair of the existing finishes, environmental system upgrade works including the integration of same with systems currently serving the wider gallery, roof works to include but are not limited to the upgrading of existing roof and replacement of existing rooflights, lighting improvements throughout, alterations and / or replacement of the lobby to the public gallery entrance, alterations to the staff entrance and entrance hall of Charlemont House and the rear Service Entrance, upgrading of the security systems including CCTV infrastructure, art tagging and intruder alarm system. The gallery is located in a tight city centre location. The works have to be carried out in a live environment as other areas of the gallery (Charlemont House, the 2006 Wing) will be/stay open to the public for the duration of the works. The building is a protected structure of National importance holding art collection of international importance. A full and more detailed specification and works requirements will be issued to shortlisted applicant at Stage 2.
