Caerphilly Castle Seige Engines
Descriptions
The siege engines at Caerphilly Castle are an unusual attraction to the castle on ‘firing’ days and despite not being fired for three years continue to be a source of interest to visitors today. The engines were the first ‘authentic’ re-creations of medieval siege engines in the UK.Cadw are looking to enhance visitor expectations at their monuments and replacing the defective siege engines with new ones which can be fired, is seen as being an attraction for visitors to visit the castle.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
